Hello guys, if you are reading this and have questions, contact me directly: TheSukkosCenter@gmail.com!
My name is Shloimy I am a real character, I know how to build, but I don't now how demolish so for that part I will leave it for you. I don't think I will need to teach you how to take down a Sukka... But I will give you some great useful tips!
Now since I am jumping up every where and I can't stay in one place, let me start with the end.
TAKING DOWN A SUKKA:
What you'll need:
1. Hammer, Screw driver
2. Zip Lock Bags
3. Heavy Duty Garbage bags
4. A bottle of water
5. Your hands
Most Sukkos are built with four walls, which is "four boards" when others are built with Three, or attached to a house...
The best way to take down a Sukka is to start from the top.
Remove all pictures and frames, decorations from the Sukka before taking the Schach off.
STEP 1: If you are using Evergreen Schach then you will start pulling them off, once off, you can either bundle them or place them into the heavy duty bags. You shouldn't keep them in front of your house as the city might not want to take it. Check with your local area policy.
STEP 2: With your screw driver start with the top. unscrew all wood from the top of your Sukka.
STEP 3: Place all screws into sealed Zip lock bags
STEP 4: Unscrew Board 1, through "4" Some people may mark their order for the next year, as if it's a new Sukka - You can do that with a regular permanent marker
STORAGE:
If you have a tarp, that will make things easier. It is better to store the wood in a shelter or garage. If this can not happen then store the wood on a slant. That way if any water does get in, it does not stay on the wood. And mold will appear.
BUYING WOOD
If you are one of the people who use real wood, apposed to a ready made furnished sukka than this will be great for you.
When buying wood always make sure to buy sturdy wood, during Yom Tov you don't want the hassle of buying more wood since it broke or etc. If your wood was left in mud or some how got really dirty it is better to hose it down for a bit - you don't want bugs falling down on your food as you are eating.
SHLACK
BUILDING A REAL EFFICIENT SHLACK
You probably tried once, twice and even three times. But: You were unsuccessful - like many!
A real Shlack comes with real time and effort. There are many ideas on how to build one and of course you need to decide which is the best for you.
In addition to the holiday of סוכות Sukkos we complete our life with many more Holidays including: פסח known as Passover | חנוכה known as Chanuka, Hanukka | Shavuos - the giving of the Torah שבועות
